Ben Matania's great long-time friend Ronald Paradine was Ben's last-remaining link with WHS all those years ago. Sadly, Ron died recently - and is deeply missed. Like many of us Ben has a great nostalgic affection for WHS and recently took part in a ZOOM session with a few other WHOBs organised by Danny O'Byrne, which he enjoyed immensely.
His daughter Tina sent me this message on June 9th 2023: "I went horseriding in Lowestoft for a couple of days and as I was driving back to Epsom, purely on the spur of the moment, decided to go via Woolverstone Hall. I called at reception and they very kindly took a picture of me in front of the building so I could show my Dad. He was so happy. I must say I was most impressed with the area. What a beautiful location; no wonder he liked it so much there!
I think you have another reunion and possibly ZOOM coming up again soon. He's not really well enough to travel, but if there is any zoom or phone call on that occasion from the school location maybe I could get him online?
