We got Rosa Weekes to sing a song, and we also got her
to wheel in the cake on a trolley,
just like the old days .......
There wasn't a dry eye
in the house. Stephen Choy
played the piano. |

Iain Dixon
played
the Bagpipes.
(magnificently!)

I sang:
"Your Song ...."
which is what
I sang at a
house
concert about 30 years ago. |

In conversations there was also mention of the "School Rugby Choir" - we all remember the singing in assembly, which we did with great gusto.
I wanted the big finish to be us all singing "Cwm Rhonda" ("Guide me Oh they Great Redeemer") ... Derek knew nothing of this, and to see him rise and start to conduct everyone was a very special moment. In fact, seeing him there at the special part of the day made it all worthwhile.
