This is a somewhat spooky area described in the Savills 1990 Sales Details as 'an inter-floor compartment housing the workings for the wind vane'.

According to Kev, it was used for the storage of guests' luggage.

Its nature and even existence was unknown to most WHS boys - probably just as well!
