Mark Frost - Hansons 70-77: "I recently came across these exam schedules: reminders of hours spent sweating in the old Gym.

  • November 1975 - I retook my French 'O' Level having got a D first time round in the summer. You didn’t need to do another oral exam – they just used the mark from the previous one. We had a female examiner who smoked during the chat - Gauloises naturally. I improved my grade to a C.

  • November 1976 – Lower 6th 'O' Level in Modern History after 1 year - taught by Peter Sadler, and the exam sat in the old Village School on the Main Rd.

  • June 1977 – Arrrrgh! The 'A' level History syllabus looks huge, but we only did the Tudors & Stuarts and 17th Century European History meaning that the 'O' Level I took in Modern History at the same time was all new stuff."
