Pass for National Schools 7’s,
where we lost in semifinals 7-6
to eventual winners St Edwards, Liverpool. Dodgy penalty for crossing. After the
game Nigel Starmer-Smith told us
that he didn’t think it was a penalty.
A very muddy pitch also went
against our very quick squad
.

Chris Hopkirk: “I remember the pitch well, and sad to say the penalty against me for obstruction. Very dubious. Always liked Starmer-Smith.”

Chris Snuggs: “Sounds like extremely bad luck you didn't deserve.”

Chris Hopkirk: “Yes it was. We had a great 7s team. Coming 3rd or 4th in that competition was still a significant result.”

Chris Snuggs: “Probably the best at that level in the history of the school. Fate often plays a malicious hand in such things.”

Chris Hopkirk: “indeed. Good memories though - in fact, some of the best.”
