"Janus" Winter 1961: "A party of boys went to Aldeburgh, keeping up a tradition set at its first performance in 1958, to rehearse and take part in Britten’s Miracle Play,“Noye’s Fludde”, part of the Aldeburgh Festival. Carter, Linklater, Lonergan, Prendergast, Howes, Bauer and Crawford played difficult percussion parts extremely well; Fletcher, Gentry and Aczel acted the parts of the “stage-hands”. The conductor, Norman Del Mar, came to the school for one rehearsal. A recording by Decca will be released in November." (Roger Goldring - Hansons 54-62)

Michael Bauer: Halls 57-62:

"It was recorded in Orford Church. Merlin was the second conductor. Norman del Mar conducted and I played the Tea Cups!"

Nigel Fletcher - Halls 53-61: "For a while we had a sixth-form society and Ben came to talk to us. At the
time he was writing his "War Requiem" which includes poems by Wilfred Owen. His poems were set works for
'A' level English that year and it turned into a very special evening!"
